Natural Resources Department
The Natural Resources Department is responsible for the planning, designing and development of the Natural Resources Diplomas and their individual Programs, and proactively monitoring progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective and improvement action, ensuring the allocation of common resources and skills within the Department's objectives.
The Diploma is three years and there are two Semesters per year, each semester with at least four courses. The Diploma and it's relative programs are constantly being reviewed and enhanced to align with the local and global demands on training. All students are expected to attend the ten day Safari practical sessions during respective semesters, as well as as the in-person practical sessions at the Campus and in the feild.
WILDLIFE AND TOURISM PROGRAM
Training involves learning about the relationships between biodiversity nd the rest of the environment in order to ensure the survival of species, and how to enhance living sustainably with other species.
Graduates should be able to evaluate habitats and conduct wildlife population estimations and make decisions on good management wildlife practices.
FISHERIES PROGRAM
Learners will farmiliarise themselves with fisheries and aquaculture relationships to development, the elements and processes sustaining ecosystems, and recognizing the implications of ecosytem alterations.
FORESTRY PROGRAM
It seeks to help learners comprehend the ecological processes of forest ecosystems, and how to develop and execute varied use sustainable management plans for private and for public forests.
